Edna from the awakening-“but whatever came, she had resolved never again to belong to another than herself” Bobinôt’s from the storm – “Bobinôt’s explanations and apologies which he had been composing all along the way, died on his lips as Calixta felt him to see if he were dry, and seemed to express nothing but satisfaction at their safe return”.

Chopin base the awakening in the 1800’s now in the 1800’s you listened to your husband and what they told you to do you manly stayed inside cooking and cleaning but not in the awakening kate chopin had a different perspective of what it should have been like or her view of what happened but in the awakening edna wasn’t the motherly type of person she didn’t cook she cheated on her husband and killed herself at the end in that time period of life that would have been fround upon.

In the book of the storm that book was based on the 1900’s that was the time period where people didn’t care about anything they were free spirited about everything and that what exactly kate chopin wrote about as a husband was going to the grocery store and it was raining and a farmer guy came up and asked to come in and she had an ifer.

How did the characters change in both of the storys? Well edna started to be sweet and trying to care about life care for her kids she would watch over them some but as the book went on she knew she wasn’t really the motherly type even some of here friends knew it.

She was very flipet she cared but didn’t really care about her husband. And in the storm when she was having her affer she didn’t care about her husband or care about his feelings but when he got home she cared about him and acted like nothing happened. How did the characters relate to each other in the storm and in the awakening?? Well she had a different view for both of the stories from how they were supposed to act in that time period she wrote these books as of the women are supposed to stay home and be loyal and watch after the kids but in these two book they cheated on their husband and didn’t care. How do they represent the social political norms of the time period?? She wrote these books as if the women shouldn’t be at home cooking and cleaning all day long and taking care of the children her perspective was different as the women she be free to do what they want to be able to see other men to not be loyal i mean that’s what it looks like but it could because of another reason though we all have different opinions on how stuff should be in different time periods. To sum it all up though kate chopin had wrote both good book the part of where she wifes cheat on their husbands is her perspective on things.
