Character Analysis of Brian Robinson from the Novel Hatchet by Gary Paulsen
Brian Robinson was a 13 year old city boy who lived in Hampton New York and his parents were getting in a divorce. One day he was going to visit his dad when a terrible accident happend. Brian lived whith his mom and visited his dad in the summer. His dad lives in Northern Canada. So this means Brian has to ride a plane all by himself form Hamton, New York to Northern Canada. Everything was fine when he got to the air port. His mom gave him a Hatchet to keep so he had a peice of her to remeber when he was gone whith his dad but something paronied him, he saw his mom whith another man! He was, he was blond and she was, kissing him. Brian knew that his mom was going in a divorce whith his dad but this was, this was the big secret. Brian was fine on the plane but the memories, all of the memories still hit. He cant belive that his mom was kissing that man. Brian was sitting at the front of the air plane with the piolet. Everithing was cool and great. Then the piolet started to grab his chest. Were his heart was and started to groan. He groan more and then his left leg, it jerked, and jerked again. The piolet was having an Heat Attack. Brian had to take over the plane and then he realized slowley he started to crash.
Once brian had crashed and landed he was scared. Brian had to do whatever it takes to survive. At night he always got cold. He was wearing a blue windbreaker that was torn up from the plane crash and shorts on. It was hard for Brian to find shelter to sleep at night. In the day time Brian would wat gut charries, then he took it futher. He learned to catch a salmon out of the water. But Brian needed a tool to catch the salmon. He came up with an bow n arrow so he made one. It took him some time to catch the salman then he was strugling. Once he caught it he was happy. He made a fire then had to skin the fish, but Brian had to eat something else later so then later he killed a bird. Whats even more nasty is he had to gut it. Brian remeberd he had his hatchet so he went where the plane had crash. He used his hatchet to cut the plane but nothing had pelled exept the illuminum. Once he got in the plane he had found the surrvival kit. It had food, bandeges and other thing that were helpful. I think that the surrvival kit had wishes for brian. A little while later people had rescued him and then he was returned with his parents then Brian had lived happily and thankfully after. Brian learns that knowing how to survive is importaint because stuff like this can happend any time and any where.
