Themes of Body Image and Personality in Beauty and The Beast
In Beauty and the beast, Disney expresses stereotypes about body image and personality, while conveying hegemonic notions of heterosexuality. Although belle is young, her lover beast is portrayed as large and prone to angry outbursts. Although the beast is in fact a beast, the implication is that a person’s appearance affects a child’s mood compared to his personality, that the great are mean and the small are kind and good.
The story is always around the development of love, and in it, contains all kinds of love. Belle’s mother told her father to take belle away because she was afraid she would get malaria. Her father was afraid that she could not bear the pressure, so he never told her about her mother. In order to save his father from prison, bell redeemed him. And the prince, without love in his heart, became a beast. Also because of love, let belle and prince together.
Beauty and the beast is a great fairy tale. It was a beautiful girl and a wild animal. Beauty is kind and really loves her father. One day my father found a garden and picked up a rose as a gift. However, a wild animal appeared and wanted to kill him. Otherwise, he would have killed one of his daughters.
Only beauty will replace her father to meet the beast. Beauty and the beast love each other. One day, Beauty’s father was ill and she came home. In the mirror she saw the dying beast. She quickly found the beast and kissed it. He became a prince. Finally, they got married. It tells me that we should not judge a person by his appearance. Beauty didn’t know at first that the beast was actually a prince.
But if the prince never loves, how can he break the curse? In saving belle from danger, the prince has released the chains of love. The prince may not know that in his time with belle, they have developed love. He may not have known that he knew love the moment he set her free from him. If you don’t have love, you can’t have love. Maybe we should, from now on, love life, love life, love everyone in life.
