Islam

The root causes of Islam terror can be traced back to the factors that inform ideologies. Islam terror is based on an ideology. There are two root causes of Islamic terror. One is Islam and the second one is Islamism. Islam is the religious faith and belief of the Muslim people. It is informed by the words and acts of the holy prophet Mohammed. Islam is, however, a lot more than this. It is also the historical aspects of the faith, its literature and texts and leaders. It also incorporates the interpretation of these books and literature. It is Islam that lays the foundation for Islamism.
Islamism is the primary basis of Islamic terror. It is a branch of Islam. Islamism incorporates the military and political ideology of Islam. The source of Islamism can be traced centuries ago. When Islam-dome was defeated by Christianity in Europe. Islam has never taken this lightly. It feels robbed of its rightful place in the world. The rise of oil financed countries in the Middle East has also facilitated Islam terror. When a previously outcast suddenly becomes wealthy, it seeks to be authoritative and correct past injustices. This correction is done by all means necessary including acts of terror.
There are up to three major strains of Islam. One is the Sunna, who believe that only the Sunna is the law to them. They allow for no visible representation of Allah. Their government is based on the strict application and interpretation of the Sunna. This is mostly found in military and monarchical countries like Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and Libya.
The other group is called the Shi’a. They believe that Imams are the physical representatives of the holy prophet. This includes Muslims in Iraq, Iran, and parts of East Africa. The third group is called the Sufi. They believe in no intermediaries between man and the Holy Prophet. They uphold their belief in the personal relationship with God. They are broadly meditative and comprises of many Democratic countries like Turkey and Egypt. Of the many groups, it is the Sunna who are more prone and accommodative to Islam terror. The Shi’a are least prone and accommodative to Islam terror.

Alternative Globalization

Globalization refers to the establishment of a free market and free trade across borders in all regions of the world. It leads to economic exploitation of the third world countries by the more advanced ones. In the long run, it depletes the planet’s resources and destroys the environment. Due to these factors, alternatives to globalization have been development through time.
The alternatives to globalization aim to empower countries to have total control over their local resources and economies. The countries are encouraged to look inwards rather than outwards. They are to produce as much as they can use the primary resources it provides. They should prioritize the promotion of local services and supplies. The local people should be adequately trained. They are to be provided with low-interest loans to facilitate them in starting own businesses.
The alternatives to globalization assist in the creation of employment opportunities. It helps countries to play in a level playing field with its neighbors. Interdependence is preferred as opposed to competition. The application of alternatives to globalization will promote the protection of the environment. The local people will be responsible for their own as opposed to foreigners who care little as it is a foreign land. With these alternatives, developing countries will reduce reliance on aid and grants. The economy of the world will, as a result, improve drastically.
This has practically been applied in the East African country Kenya. With the countries leaders facing charges of crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court, the country had to employ survival tactics. The international community cut ties with the developing country. Leading this pack was the United States of America and Britain. With nowhere else to turn to, Kenya turned to itself. It has employed alternatives to globalization, and the results so far are impressive.

Sexual Practices and Gender Relations

For a long time, sexual attitudes towards women had been influenced by the religion and moral affiliation of the society the woman belongs in. This would also spread to the workplace. The society has already allocated roles it considers fitting to the woman. Globalization has turned the world upside down for these sexual attitudes. Globalization has shown that even women can be CEO’s. Not only be CEO’s but also be excellent at it. Globalization has also exhibited the importance of providing quality education for the girl child. It is now said that when a woman is educated, the whole society benefits. This has gone a long way in changing perceptions and stereotypes in many parts of the world. In some organizations, the production role of the woman has been overlooked. Globalization has facilitated the tapping in of this valuable resource by economies all over the world.
The benefits of this development are many. The capital per income of the country significantly improves. Women contribute financially in the running of the family. As a result the general standard of living improves. However, the implications this has on the social order are huge. There are now increased cases of divorce due to women empowerment. Single – parenting has become the norm in most countries. The actual effects of this situation are yet to felt as it is not know how these children will relate socially when their time comes. The benefits globalization has on sexual practices and gender relations significantly outweigh the demerits.
