In “The Minister’s Black Veil” by Nathaniel Hawthorne explains a lot about the main character. Have you ever made a sin before to the point where people judged you for it? Mr. Hooper had that same experience but at the end of the day he said the truth. What would you have done differently when people have judged you just like they did to Mr. Hooper. In the Minister’s Black Veil, the psychoanalytic theory helps the reader come to the conclusion that the villagers believe that the main character Mr.Hooper has a significant psychological state, just like everyone else for sinning just like everyone else has, having to be judged by his appearance and also for telling the truth. Hooper has sinned like no other, just like everyone else.

Happiness always affects you when ever you do something bad that is always considered a sin. Every sin someone does just like Mr. Hooper affects him and everyone else around him. We all sin and we all know how to hide it at times. “Mr.Hooper smiled to think that only a material emblem had separated him from happiness though the horrors. Which it showered fourth must be drawn darkly between the foundst of lovers”. Whenever you have sinned you get that stuck in your mind you lose that peace that one day you had. That being said it is hard to look up to someone and talk to him while looking in their eyes. We were all in that situation before so has Hooper. “He could not walk the streets with any peace of mind”. Mr. Hooper not only had sinned but he also got judged by it like everyone else. We have been in that place before and it’s not so nice to be in it at all.Being judged for your appearance is always something hard, it’s something that we all go though. It happens all over the world. Two people who stood out that was judging Mr. Hopper would have been the sexton and a old women. “I can’t really feel as if good Mr. Hooper is face was behind that piece of crap” said the ssexton. “I don’t like it muttered an old woman”. Those two didn’t feel to comfortable with Hooper wearing that veil that he was so being judged at. No one really wants to be around him at all. “Some gathered in little circles, huddled closely together, with their mouths all whispering in the center; some went homeward alone”. Even though Mr.Hooper has sinned and was being judged for it by his appearance he also was telling the truth at the end of the day. We all see it in an everyday life. At school, home, and anywhere you go. It’s all around us.

Telling the truth always hurts if it’s not you its people around you. Sometime when it’s even someone very important to you. The lady’s husband proved his wife wrong about Mr. Hooper. “I wonder he is not afraid to be alone with himself!” “Men sometimes are so, said her husband.” Saying that even men are afraid just like how women are that nothing is different between gender. The lady’s husband wasn’t the only one to prove someone wrong, Mr. Hooper did the same thing but to many people more. “Treasuring up the secret of his sin; then deem me a monster, for the symbol beneath which I have lived, and die; I look around me, and, lo! On every visage a black veil”. In that quote Mr. Hopper said in another way that we all sin and have secrets but we all don’t show it the way he did. Many of us just have that quit in us and don’t say nothing at all. So imagine how Hooper felt when it all went down.Mr. Hooper has sinned, has been judged at by his appearance, but at the end of the day he said the truth even though many people might not have liked it whatsoever.

But at the end when he sinned it was the best because we all do it and since it opened the eyes of many others who thought the worst about him all probably felt some time of guilt in all of it and it’s not always a great feelings since when Mr. Hooper pasted many saw the change. Every normal human being does what Mr. Hooper did, we all have sinned even if it’s a very small one or a bigone we all have done it. Also one thing that we all do is judge one another in any little thing. The text that I have has proven that he is a normal person and we all have done what he has done. Imagine being in his shoes it would be really hard with all he had to go through with and also his wife leaving him for never taking that black veil of his off. That would be really hard to have to be dealing with that all. Having no one on your side but still doing what you love and that would be being a pastor. We all do things that are for the best of us, things that are not. If I was in Mr. Hooper’s shoes i would probably have done what he did and not take it off. Stand for what was right.

Summering the story Mr. Hooper wear a black veil just like everyone else but he literally had one on, so that being said he had a hard time with people expecting that fact that he did something a bit different. He lost many people and maybe even beliefs along the way. Having to lose his wife, since she left him. Then what happened with him later on. He later on died still wearing the black veil to his death.
